  Bench-Top Universal The Test Bay can perform tension and compression testing. Two precision rolled ball screws with multiple circuit ball nuts provide smooth, precise motion across the entire operating range. Chrome steel rods and bearings eliminate lateral surface translation and ensure precise alignment across the whole travel range. The lead screws and linear travel bearings are protected from contamination and damage by the heavy fan-fold. Flatness and parallel norms are ground into the loading zones. Each facet is equipped with a bolt circle that allows the system cell, universal joints, or a variety of testing devices to be attached to any of the four surfaces.   It is provided with a joint and interconnection for attaching to tensile wedge grips or equivalent devices.
